2. Rodge BBQ And his cousin, Ms. Nuri - In Santa Elena, RODGE BBQ is a small wooden shack by the side of the road near the Tropigas shop. Rodge offers appetizing off-the-grill BBQ Chicken / Pork wrapped in a tortilla and homemade BBQ sauce (you can also ask for white rice and beans). Beside him, inside the little shack, Ms. Nuri serves THE BEST Relleno negro (Black soup), Cow foot soup, beef soup, Rice n' beans or Split peas dishes - Check out her board for the daily specials.

Always serving fresh food with local ingredients, they offer a good variety of breakfast and lunch options, As well as whole wheat fry jacks and tortillas, salads and fresh juices.

5. PUPUSA- Even though Pupusa is an El Salvadorian food, it is very popular in Belize. There are several stalls in the market selling Pupusa, a corn flour, savory pancake with various fillings of choice. Don't forget to pour the tomato sauce and pickled cabbage on it!
